Join American Hauntings as we take you behind the locked doors of what’s become known as “The House In Between” in Florence, Mississippi – a place so haunted that it’s been the scene of round-the-clock investigations for years. The history of the house – as to why it’s so haunted – it murky, at best. We do know that it was built by the current owner in 1990. But even as it was being built, the contractors and owner began experiencing strange activity, like missing tools, objects vanished, footsteps, and more. It continued after the house was completed, manifesting as knocking, ringing doorbells, doors opening and closing, lights turning on and off, and more. The happenings increased over time, finally peaking around 2008, when the owner first contacted paranormal investigators to try and find out what was occurring.
The atmosphere of the house continued to become more overbearing with an increase in the sights, sounds, and eerie events – finally chasing away the owner. She still owns the house but refuses to live there. In fact, she won’t even set foot inside after dark.
Investigators who have spent time in the house have documented an extensive number of happenings that they have experienced themselves – strange sounds, sights, shadowy figures, and voices. It’s believed there are at least two entities connected to the land the house was built on – a man and a woman. Both of their voices have been recorded during investigations.
In addition, mediums who have spent time at the house – from around the country, with no first-hand knowledge of the place – have stated that the home is a gathering place or passageway, where spirits pass through, gathering strength, before crossing over to the other side.
One respected investigator stated: “Poltergeist activity. Intelligent spirits. This home is the most consistent location I’ve ever investigated in my 15 years in the field.”
